Yes, alcohol is served in licensed hotels, beach clubs, and restaurants on the island, including venues at the St. Regis and Mamsha Al Saadiyat. Drinking on public streets is not permitted.
Yes. Saadiyat Island is welcoming during Ramadan — hotels and many restaurants at Mamsha Al Saadiyat remain open, museums often host special evening events, and the atmosphere is notably peaceful and atmospheric.
Relaxed resort wear is appropriate throughout the island. Modest dress (covered shoulders and knees) is respectfully requested at the Abrahamic Family House. A headscarf is only required if entering the mosque within that complex.
There is no metro on the island. Visitors can use the free Experience Abu Dhabi shuttle, taxis (approximately AED 60–80 from the airport), or the Darbi bus service.
The Guggenheim Abu Dhabi is a major new contemporary art museum currently under construction on Saadiyat Island, designed by Frank Gehry. It is one of the most anticipated cultural openings in the world and will be the largest Guggenheim museum globally when complete.
