Safety & Etiquette

πŸ›‘οΈ

Safety

Abu Dhabi is consistently ranked among the world's safest cities. Saadiyat Island is extremely safe at all hours. The Mamsha promenade is well-lit and busy into the late evening β€” walking it at night is one of the pleasures of the island.

πŸ‘—

Dress Code

Resorts and beach clubs are relaxed β€” swimwear is appropriate at the pool and beach. When visiting the Abrahamic Family House or any government building, dress modestly: shoulders and knees should be covered. The Cultural District museums have no strict dress code, but smart-casual is the norm.

🐒

Nature Protection

Saadiyat Beach is a protected nesting ground for Hawksbill Sea Turtles. Avoid using flash photography on the beach at night, and never disturb the marked nesting dunes. The Saadiyat Rotana runs guided turtle walks during nesting season (May–October) β€” this is the right way to observe them.

Accessibility

Saadiyat Island is designed to be highly accessible. The Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Abrahamic Family House, and the Mamsha promenade are all fully wheelchair and stroller-friendly.

β™Ώ

Venues

All Cultural District museums and the Mamsha promenade have step-free access. Dedicated parking bays are available at every major attraction.

🎫

People of Determination

Most public transport and attractions offer significant discounts or priority access for People of Determination. Present a relevant ID or documentation at the ticket desk.
