New Electric ART Bus Route Connecting Saadiyat Island’s Cultural Landmarks

bu Dhabi Mobility, part of the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC), today announced the launch of Route AR2, a new electric Autonomous Rail Transit (ART) bus service designed to provide seamless connectivity to Saadiyat Island’s premier cultural destinations.

Operating daily from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. at 30-minute intervals, Route AR2 will serve key attractions across the Saadiyat Cultural District. The new service will link passengers to major landmarks, including teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi, Louvre Abu Dhabi, and Saadiyat Walk.

The ART system, an innovative electric transport solution that functions without traditional rail tracks, will operate along a nearly 27-kilometre route on Abu Dhabi Island. Each vehicle accommodates approximately 200 passengers, supporting the emirate’s ongoing efforts to expand its public transport offerings, improve operational efficiency, and promote the use of sustainable, shared mobility options.

As part of the service enhancements, Abu Dhabi Mobility also confirmed that ART operations on Al Reem Island will be discontinued effective November 15.
