Sheikh Nahyan expressed his pleasure at witnessing the advanced level of construction achieved on the world-class museum, and noted that the Saadiyat Cultural District is a source of pride for the UAE, and once it has been fully developed, it would further enhance the country’s reputation as a global destination of arts and culture.
The Louvre Abu Dhabi, which is the result of an agreement between the governments of the UAE and France, will be the first global museum in the Arab world that embodies the spirit of openness and dialogue between cultures once it is completed in 2015. The museum will display works of historical, cultural and sociological significance, from the most ancient to the most contemporary, with pieces representing different cultures from around the world. The Saadiyat Cultural District will also be the home of Zayed National Museum and Guggenheim Abu Dhabi.
