Stunning Architecture
The architecture of the Louvre Abu Dhabi, designed by Pritzker Prize winner Jean Nouvel, is a visionary blend of traditional Arabian concepts and state-of-the-art modern engineering.
Inspired by a classical Arab medina (city) and floating seemingly on the water of Saadiyat Island, the complex is unified beneath a vast, 180-meter-wide latticed dome.
This latticework is composed of 7,850 geometric "stars" layered eight times, creating a captivating and dynamic microclimate below.
As the sun moves, light filters through the perforations, producing the museum's signature effect, which is called the "rain of light.”
It seamlessly blends the outside world with the inside of the building, which is more than worthy of its famous name.
