Mark Facey

“TDIC is a company committed to quality: in our projects, our partners and our commercial arrangements. I am dedicated to offering timely and practical, legal and commercial solutions to help realise that commitment.”

Mark Facey has more than 20 years experience working as a lawyer and investment banker on a full spectrum of projects, ranging from commercial and residential developments to schools, hospitals, prisons, toll roads, airports and sports stadiums.

Mark joined TDIC in July 2006 having previously worked as general counsel at Baulderstone Hornibrook, one of Australia’s largest building and civil engineering contractors, and the company responsible for Sydney’s famous Opera House. At Baulderstone, Mark negotiated legal and commercial aspects of many major developments and advised on their financial arrangements, risk allocation and delivery structures, particularly for privately financed build-own-operate-transfer and public-private-partnership deals.

He worked as an investment banker at ANZ Investment Bank, focusing on project finance transactions and was involved in the development of the stadium that hosted the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. He has also worked at top tier Australian law firms Allens Arthur Robinson and Blake Dawson Waldron.

Mark was admitted as solicitor to the Supreme Courts of Queensland and New South Wales in Australia. He is also a member of the Urban Land Institute, the international non-profit research and educational organisation catering to real estate professionals. He holds a bachelor of law (Hons) degree from Queensland University of Technology, Australia.

Mark dedicates most of his free time to his wife and chasing after his young son. He enjoys exercising, especially rowing a single scull (badly) off the UAE’s beautiful shores.
